How does the EL2 digital cylinder work?

The EL2 replaces the traditional door cylinder with a digital system. Doors can be conveniently opened using a smartphone, NFC tag, or chip – without the need for a physical key. Control is via a free app that allows you to flexibly manage users and access times.

Do I need an internet connection to use it?

No. The cylinder operates independently and does not require a permanent internet connection. The mobile app communicates locally with the cylinder via Bluetooth. An optional bridge is required for remote access or central management via a web portal.

Are there any ongoing costs or subscription fees?

No. The app for iOS and Android is permanently free to use. There are no hidden license costs or monthly fees. Only the optional web portal for professional users is subject to a fee.

How is the cylinder mounted?

Installation is simple and wireless. You don't need a drill or special tools. Simply replace the existing cylinder, plug in the EL2, and secure it in place with just a few simple steps – it's ready for use in just a few minutes.

How long does the battery last?

The integrated lithium battery lasts up to 12 months or up to 30,000 door openings, depending on usage. The battery status is displayed in the app. Replacing it is quick and easy.

Which doors is the EL2 suitable for?

Thanks to its modular design, the EL2 fits virtually all common door thicknesses. It's suitable for house and apartment doors as well as office and commercial doors – even outdoors thanks to its IP66 certification.

How secure is the EL2 digital cylinder?

Extremely secure. The EL2 uses modern AES 128-bit encryption, comparable to the security standard used in online banking. Access rights are individually controllable, and all actions are logged in compliance with GDPR.

Can I share the cylinder with family or employees?

Absolutely. You can add as many users as you like and assign individual permissions – for example, permanently, only on weekdays, or for a specific period of time. Ideal for families, landlords, cleaning staff, or tradespeople.

How long is the warranty?

Every product comes with a 12-month manufacturer's warranty. This warranty does not cover damage caused by failure to charge the battery in a timely manner, vandalism, or resetting.
